In 2019 after 11 years of practising yoga I decided to delve deeper and

completed my yoga teacher training with the Laura Green Yoga Teacher

Training School.  I've been teaching in the community since and I'm

grateful to all the students who have joined me along the way.

My teaching style is playful, light-hearted with a sense of freedom for you to

explore how the yoga most benefits you.

My background also lies in psychology and the world of therapy.  I'm fascinated about the connection between movement, meditation, breathing techniques and the nervous system.

I'm known for my love of the outdoors and you'll find me out walking with my family and our adorable Cockapoo, chasing sunsets, cycling, sea dipping or playing on our paddleboard!

Where it all began...

It was 2007 and my world had changed overnight as I experienced a tragic and devastating loss.  Shortly after, I set off travelling, accidentally drove a quad bike off a bridge in Thailand and broke my pelvis. I carried on (with the help of my amazing friend) and backpacked around South East Asia on crutches then headed to New Zealand.

I'd never been into yoga, martial arts had been my passion,  but in New Zealand I felt drawn to a yoga retreat.  I had free accommodation and all the yoga (meditation, asana, chanting, chats on philosophy) and I helped on the land.  I was the only person at the centre.  This my friends, was the start of my yoga journey.

The morning bell would chime at 5.30am, signalling the start of our day.  We moved through a physical practice, meditated and remained in silence until after breakfast.  I was deep in my grief.  I'd roll my mat out in the morning with tears streaming down my face.

When moving through the postures the focus required brought

me into the present moment.  I felt strong and determined.

I experienced emotional release, connection to inner strength

and comfort from the spiritual practice. My yoga practice

became a daily anchor.

My Yoga practice has evolved into a way of life that supports

me physically, emotionally and spiritually, through all the

wonderful joys and challenges that life brings.

Thank you for reading a little about my yoga story.
